What's new?
Below you find some highlights from recent updates to Privacy Nexus:
February 2026
- Redesigned the UI for filtering on question & answers. It's now much easier to find a specific question that you want to filter on, also if it occurs multiple times in the form. You can now also pick whether you want to see results that match all your selected Q&As or if any one match is sufficient.
- Added the option to start working on an Assessment or DPIA form starting from an older submission, when viewing that submission.

- Text fields for long form answers will now increase in size when you type

- Added dashboard charts for the Assessments module
- Removed the column showing the saved draft date from the RoPA and DPIA search results, to make room for more important information
November 2025
- Changed links in form question descriptions to always open in a new tab by default so you don't lose form progress.

- We have added an entirely new module: Assessments. The first new assessment is the Legitimate Interest Assessment (LIA). Other assessments will follow in the future.

- Added details of the organisation's privacy contact person on the support page, which can entered in the organisation profile.
- Reworked UI for third-party connection in inventory forms, including a new "Unknown" option.

- Added option to start filling a DPIA form based on another DPIA (copying answers)
- Added easily accessible buttons for commonly used filters
- Added new filter on deadlines that are overdue, available for all modules
- Added a new filter to the RoPA for whether a system/processing uses AI

- Added in-depth customisation for an organisation's "data model" of personal data: you can now create custom data groups; rename and move custom data items; hide standard groups and items; etc.
- Added a filter for detected issues in latest submissions for Systems and Processings
- Added the option to sort by department
- Reworked the UI when filling out a form: there is now a sidebar showing your progress through the sections of the form, it's always visible so you can easily switch between pages

- Warn users when inviting people with email addresses that don't match their organisation
- Added more ways to verify a data subject's identity when registering a Data Subject Request

- Renamed the Inventory to ROPA (still "Verwerkingsregister" in Dutch), including related terms like "inventorise" etc.
November 2024
- Added an option to send us feedback from inside the application.
- Added a warning when inviting a user with an email address domain that is not part of your organisation, including a UI for admins to configure a list of domains the organisation uses.
- Added the reason given by the user for a DPIA override when showing that event in the activity history.
October 2024
- Added a setting that lets organisations control whether users that are not Manager/Supervisor-level are allowed to create custom data items.
- Added more audit logging around changes to an organisation, such as changes to departments or the data model.
- Added tooltips to the organisation data model page with information about where data items and categories of data subjects are used.
September 2024
- Replace "Someone" with "'Deleted user'" in activity logs when referring to users removed from the organisation.
August 2024
- Add search bars to all category of data subject selectors plus the data item selector on the organisation's data model page
- On the processing's data page, distinguish between a data item deleted from the data model and one no longer present in the system.
June 2024
- Archived records can be unarchived fully for 30 days (was 72 hours).
- Added a warning when archiving or deleting something that has connections to other things, which includes a list of the connections so you'll know what will be affected.
- Reworked the design of the filtering UI
- Added a verification process when a user's email address is changed

- Added Excel export of filtered browse results for all modules (as already existed for the inventory)
